SCAQMD RULE 1168 Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

(a) Purpose
The purpose of this rule is to reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), toxic air contaminants, and stratospheric ozone-depleting compounds from the application of adhesives, adhesive primers, sealants, and sealant primers.

(b) Applicability
This rule applies to any person who uses or stores any adhesives, adhesive primers, sealants, or sealant primers in the South Coast AQMD; any person who sells, supplies, distributes, offers for sale, or manufactures any adhesives, adhesive primers, sealants, or sealant primers for use within the South Coast AQMD; and any owner or operator of a Facility within the South Coast AQMD conducting operations which include the use of adhesives, adhesive primers, sealants, or sealant primers; unless otherwise specifically exempted by this rule.
